Born in 1924 in Breslau, Germany, Ursula and her family escaped Nazi persecution by fleeing to Shanghai on the last passenger ship permitted to leave. After years there, where she met and married Ian, she eventually made her way to Houston, Texas, and discovered Jesus at the age of 35.
For over four decades, she taught God's Word with precision and passion. Her method included meticulously typing all the pertinent information for her lessons, and in some cases, creating questions for each lesson. She kept these neatly catalogued and stored. When she went home to be with the Lord in 2019 she left behind many spiritual children and a rich legacy of Bible studies that can now reach women worldwide.

It was Ursula's goal to teach women to study the Bible in an active way, versus a passive way. Ursula's Bible studies will help you learn to make your own discoveries in God's Word. Here is an excerpt from Lesson 1 of the series The Why and How of Personal Bible Study, written by Ursula in 1977.

As a new believer at the age of 35 Ursula quickly fell in love with God's Word. Within a couple years of getting saved she began writing children's Sunday School curriculum for Berachah Church in Houston.
